Our Church Council is working on a project to make St. Andrew's more suitable for wider use so that it can become a greater asset for our community, while still retaining its primary role as the spiritual centre of the village.

We have done some preliminary planning and discussed options with the church authorities and architects, but before going any further we would like to know your views about St. Andrew’s and its future.

The site of St Andrew’s (and two churches before it) has been at the heart of our community for almost two thousand years; originally being the forum of Roman Aldborough (Isurium Brigantum).  Our present church was founded in 1333.

A major factor behind our plans is the high cost of running and maintaining our Grade 1 Listed Building. This raises issues as to the future viability of the building unless improvements are made to increase its use and make it more suitable for wider community activities.

We would be very grateful if you would take a few minutes to complete this survey.
