Housing Vision & Aims
·       To provide good quality sustainable housing and accommodation to residents in Great Oakley, neighbouring and closely connected parishes.
·       To provide not for profit housing with affordable rents. 
·       To support individuals and families to remain living in their community. 
·       To build strong and supportive community cohesion through housing in a community in which tenants have strong connections. 
·       To encourage young people to progress to Independent Living in their local community, with the aspiration of future home ownership.
·       To grow the community in line with current housing demand and policy in a planned way that takes into account individuals housing needs and the larger community/environment. 
·       To promote inclusivity. 
·       To develop homes that enhance the community and that people feel proud to live in. 
·       To improve the availability and sustainability of the rental accommodation in Great Oakley and surrounds 
·       To be the catalyst for community led development. 

GREAT OAKLEY COMMUNITY HUB LTD, “The Society”, is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (RS007164) 
·       The Society exists in order to carry on business solely for the benefit of the community. This is the purpose of the Society. The Society is committed to trading for the benefit of the community and not for anyone’s private benefit, a not-for-profit organization. 
·       The operating rules under which the Society is governed are available for viewing by members and interested parties and are based on Plunkett Foundation Model Rules for Community Ownership Version 2 September 2013 
·       Membership is the means by which the Society is owned by the community. 
·       Membership provides Members with access to information, a voice in the Society and the opportunity to be elected to a representative role in its governance. 
·       There is a Code of Conduct related to the governing committee and appointed committee members which are consistent with the rules of the Society.
·       The Society has established a dedicated Housing Committee with responsibility for managing the Society’s housing portfolio in line with the Vision, Aims and Policy in this document.
·       This committee comprises a maximum of 6 members including at least 2 from the Management Committee.
·        This committee is also governed by the Code of Conduct that apples to the Management Committee.
