North Lands Collective - unique, hand-crafted products made in Caithness
North Lands Creative has been awarded funding from the Scottish Government (Aspiring Communities Fund) to explore the possibility of setting up the North Lands Collective - a social enterprise which would benefit the local community. Our potential participants live between Wick and Berriedale and have been previously unable to access the facilities at North Lands for reasons such as disability, ill health, financial constraints, or lack of childcare or transportation; one of our main aims is to offer these participants free training in glass, craft and business skills, alongside the opportunity to develop, make and sell their own unique, hand-crafted objects and products.
As we begin to think more about what these hand-made objects and products might be, we are also conducting some market research; the purpose of this survey is to learn more about those who buy (or who would consider buying) craft objects (either for themselves or others) from makers and retailers within the north Highlands.
We are really excited about this project and its potential, and would be greatly appreciative if you could take the time to complete our short survey; insight into our potential market will be enormously beneficial, and will help is to not only bring the North Lands Collective into being, but also to shape its direction and future.
If you are interested to learn more about the project and how you could be a part of it, please contact Karlyn Sutherland on development@northlandscreative.co.uk or 01593 721 229.
