1. Women in skateboarding: Past and present

We are conducting some research into women in skateboarding.  We are interested in the participation of women in skateboarding today, and also awareness amongst skateboarders of female skateboarding pioneers of the past.  We will be sharing our initial results at the Theoretical Archaeology Group conference in Southampton later this month, in a special session dedicated to discussing skateboarding and archaeology (http://www.southampton.ac.uk/tag2016/sessionsabstracts/session32.page).  We are interested in the parallels between early female pioneers of both skateboarding and archaeology, fields that have been male-dominated in the past (archaeology), and male-dominated today (skateboarding).  We will also be discussing female participation in skateboarding today and any barriers to this.

We would really appreciate it if you could answer our survey questions relating to women and skateboarding.  All responses will be completely anonymous. But please email c.collins4@exeter.ac.uk if you would like to be added to a mailing list to stay updated with the project.  We hope to publish our results as an article and will share this with any participants who are interested in seeing the results.
