Research Brief

Perpetuity Research is an independent research company. We have been commissioned by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (UK Chapter) and the Fraud Advisory Panel to conduct a short survey to better understand the reporting of fraud by organisations in England and Wales.

In some countries there is a legal requirement for organisations to report fraud to a relevant authority. No such requirement currently exists in England and Wales. We would, therefore, like to explore the benefits and drawbacks of adopting a similar approach here by making the reporting of fraud by organisations mandatory/compulsory.

For the purposes of this survey, we are looking at fraud offences committed against an organisation either internally (by employees) or externally. We define that a fraud offence has taken place where there is enough evidential data to prove that. In other words, that there is enough evidence to report the offence to the police.
The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. The deadline for responses is by 5pm on Friday 2nd July 2021.

This is an anonymous survey. We do not ask for your name nor the organisation you work for, and no identifying factors will be presented in the research findings. All information will be used only for the purposes of this piece of research. At the end of the survey, we will provide you with an opportunity to receive a copy of the findings and to take part in a follow-up interview.

If you are contacted from multiple sources about this survey, please only respond once.

Thank you for your input.
