This survey seeks your comments and feedback on the proposed High-level Learning Outcomes (HLOs) for the new 2020 Anaesthetic Curriculum. We are especially interested in how the changes may affect groups of people who share protected characteristics (

The GMC requires us to frame our curriculum around approximately 15-20 ‘learning outcomes’. The outcomes are described at a ‘high level’ and define the activities that a clinician at the end of training will be able to perform independently. This is a significant change from the structure of our current 2010 curriculum.

Before completing the survey, we strongly advise you to familiarise yourself with the key proposed changes available on the College website here.

We are still developing our implementation and transition plan, and this will be communicated in due course, and published widely with the final version of the curriculum following GMC approval. We anticipate this will be in late spring 2020, with implementation of the new curriculum scheduled for August 2021.

The 2020 Anaesthetic Curriculum must be fit for purpose. Your input and support will help ensure this is case. The information you provide is submitted anonymously.
