Dog Poo Bin Survey

Although Great Linford Parish Council (GLPC) are not legally responsible for the clear up of Dog Poo, we provide the service for the benefit of our Community.

It is an expensive operation costing approximately £8k per year in the annual budget – which you pay for!

We currently provide 27 dog poo bins around the Parish – and after much consultation, we’re increasing that to 32.

Attached is a map showing where the bins are going to be located. Click here for the proposed bin location map

We would welcome your thoughts on this emotive topic and more details about the changes can be found on the website Great Linford Parish Council Website. We appreciate the bin location doesn’t fit everyone’s walk route but there should be enough locations to deposit your dog waste, or take it home and bin it.

Question Title

* 1. Do you agree with GLPC's decision to provide dog poo bins in our community?

When considering the criteria for placing dog poo bins, the following criteria is considered:

  • is there an alternative and appropriate black bin that can be used
  • is the area a high density dog walking area
  • is there another bin within a reasonable walking distance
  • would the new location enhance the spread of bins over the whole GLPC area
  • is the area close to a place frequented by a high number of visitors
  • is the preferred site close to a house or business.

If you feel that there is a location missed that fits this criteria, email glpc@great-linford.gov.uk

What happens next?

We will collate the responses and fine tune the locations, redo the maps and then make changes with Landlord's permission to site the bins.
