Introduction

London - ELATT

The Third Sector Professional Exchange is funded by the Education and Training Foundation. It is co-ordinated by the Third Sector National Learning Alliance (TSNLA) and the continuing professional development is delivered by regional Partners: ELATT in London - to participate will be free at the point of delivery.

The exchange is based on a number of key elements:

  • Creating regional Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Champions
  • Practitioner exchange of experience and knowledge
  • CPD needs identified from local. regional and national sources
  • Participant sharing and cascading in local areas
  • Demonstrating how CPD learning is put into practice to the benefit of learners
  • Using the TSNLA website and regional networks for communicating and sharing

An important part of this process is for you to complete this CPD survey to identify your needs. We will use this information to help shape the event and future CPD support.

In addition we are asking all participants to complete an Equality Monitoring Survey, which will take about 20 minutes to complete. Completion of the Equality Monitoring Survey is voluntary and would be much appreciated:

The purpose of these questionnaires and evaluation forms is for both providers and the Education and Training Foundation to gain a better understanding of both the quality of the continuing professional development (CPD) experience and the impact on participants’ practice. The continuing professional development of offer is free at the point of delivery but we do need you to fully complete the pre and post assessment and evaluation forms.

There are three stages to the questionnaire over the course of the project - of which this is the first:

Pre-CPD - inviting participants:

  • to identify your perceived area(s) of need
  • to self-assess your skills levels - giving a baseline indicator
  • to identify your preferred CPD support
  • to identify what skills/expertise you have to offer

Stages 2 and 3 will ask you to asses the impact of the CPD learning immediately after participating and later when you have put your learning into practice.

The TSNLA conducts all research projects in line with the British Educational Research Education (BERA) (www.bera.ac.uk) ethical guidelines for educational research.

The data received from this survey will be used to identify the CPD skill levels and development needs of participants - so that the appropriate CPD can be provided to enhance the teaching skills of all participants.
