Background

FIA members have expressed concern over the requirements for UKCA marking under CPR, and other relevant EU directives and regulations, and the short time scale for implementation.

So far, the response from the government has been dismissive as they see the required effort as low. However, this view is not held by many of our members and it is felt that the government is unaware of the specific challenges posed in the fire protection field.

In addition, we need to make the government aware of the fact, that for some, UKCA marking under UK CPR is a second investment into an additional UK AB certificate. It would be valuable therefore to understand the presence of products going to the EU and therefore requiring CE marking in addition to UKCA marking.

The FIA will bring this information to the government’s attention. We would appreciate feedback via this survey so that the data can be collected, collated, and presented to the government.
