Introduction to the Reading Audit, and a note on your data

Thank you for taking the time to complete the Scholastic Reading Audit. It is a comprehensive look at reading in your school, and will give you a clear view as to your strengths and weaknesses, where you have good coverage and where you may have gaps. Please remember, this is not a test! We’re looking for answers that give an honest account of the teaching of reading in your school as this will help us write the most useful report we can.
Time and resources
The most useful reports that our Reading Audit team write are when a small group of staff within a school take the audit together. At primary school this may include the Literacy Coordinator, Reading Manager (if you have one), phase leaders, and SENDCo. At secondary school, this could include the Head of English, SENDCo and Librarian. At both Primary and Secondary levels you should also include any other members of staff that you feel have a good overview of the teaching of reading in your school.
There are 133 questions in this audit and the average time to complete is around 45-minutes, therefore please do give yourselves plenty of time to complete this audit.
When complete, your answers will be sent to our team of independent reading specialists who will analyse your responses. They will write a comprehensive report and this will be emailed to you as soon as possible by a member of our Education team.

Scholastic takes the security of your data very seriously. When you complete the Reading Audit, your data is being stored within Survey Monkey's servers which are hosted in the United States of America. SurveyMonkey Inc. participates in and has certified its compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. The EU-US Privacy Shield Program is a means of legalizing the transfer of personal data from Europe to the US. If you would like to, you are able to read Survey Monkey's privacy policy here. Your data will be kept for two years from the point at which you complete the audit and you can contact us at this email address if you wish us to delete the data before that point.
