Learn to edit produce unscripted and Specialist Factual TV

Course Content
This course is for those working in unscripted TV both Factual and Specialist Factual who want to learn and practice the skills required to become a successful Edit Producer.  It’s intended for new comers to the role and those with Edit Producer credits who want to take their craft to the next level. The focus of the course is popular formatted shows that make up the bulk of factual UK TV.

The course will cover: 

- Edit fundamentals
- How to cut an interview
- Techniques of great storytelling
- Writing appropriate commentary
- Understanding TV formats and how to Edit Produce to a brief
- Managing the edit
- Working with the Commissioner, Exec and PM
- Copyright, Compliance and Music
- Edit Prep, Post Production, Paperwork, Commentary Recordings

This course is led by Steve Evanson, the Co-Creator and Series Editor of BBC Coast and prime mover behind the show becoming a global brand.  He was the Series Producer on Countryfile and has Edit Produced both factual and specialist factual including Coast, Countryfile, Harvest, Secret Britain, Rough Science for the BBC, and Walks with my Dog for Channel 4.  As a Series Producer he has managed numerous edits and taught AP’s and Researchers to become successful Edit Producers.

Fees
Freelance Rate: £750
Corporate Rate: £1075

Once you have been accepted on the course we will invoice you, by email, for the full amount of the fees. We must receive your payment 5 working days before the course at the latest. Your place on the course is not confirmed until we have received full payment from you, or you have received written confirmation that you have been awarded a bursary.
