A few months ago, a group of residents came together to discuss a plan to involve the whole village in a conversation about their experiences of living in the community – what they value about living here, and their hopes for continuing to build a vibrant community for 2025 – and beyond.

Given the serious nature of the current COVID19 crisis, we have postponed any face-to-face consultation events until things go back to normal.  The decision to go-ahead with this online survey is based on a funding requirement to commence the project before the end of March.  We hope that the opportunity to think about the good things that define our community might offer some brief respite from the news agenda.  Our resilience as a community also feels more important than ever as we face into the current crisis.

Once we learn more about what matters most to you, we plan to identify some priorities for action, make a plan, host some discussion events and hopefully work together to take this forward.

The questions in the questionnaire have been put together in consultation with village residents so we’re hoping they will feel relevant to everyone.  We want to hear from as many of you as possible.  Everyone’s view will count.  We’ll make sure that we share a summary of all the information we gather, and you will also have the opportunity to be more involved in the planning stage.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this questionnaire and  helping us plan the future for Eddleston. There is a prize draw with one lucky winner getting £50 of vouchers for The Horseshoe Inn. The draw will take place on Tuesday 14 April 2020 so please make sure we have your contact details if you would like to be included.
