Our research is looking at using visual designs to convey emotions in digital applications for electronic devices. This study will measure what emotional content you think is being represented by the stimulus. The emotional content will be measured in terms of the valence and arousal of the emotion.

Valence refers to emotional pleasantness: a low value indicates unpleasant emotion while a high value indicates pleasant emotion.

Arousal refers to physiological arousal or excitedness: a low value indicates calm while a high value indicates excited.

During the task you will see a number of visual designs that convey emotional meaning and, after viewing each stimulus, you will be asked to rate the meaning in terms of arousal and valence from low to high.
