The Scottish Government and its partners have agreed a Quality Action Plan to improve the quality of Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) provision. Action 13 committed the Scottish Government to identifying settings that have demonstrated innovation and impact in some aspect of their practice and to establish ways to share this nationally. In return, the Scottish Government will support them to evidence and enhance their understanding of the impact on children.

If you are delivering funded ELC and you believe your setting is demonstrating innovation in some aspect of practice and that this is benefitting children’s development, we would love to hear from you. Please use this form to describe the innovation and its benefits, including those perceived by parents.

We will select between 5 and 10 ELC settings. A small team drawn from the Scottish Government improvement team, Care Inspectorate and Education Scotland will work with you to develop the evidence of your work and its benefits, and also to share this learning across Scotland. A small grant will also be given to each setting to fund time spent developing the evidence, information materials, presentations at events and development and learning time.

This is a great opportunity to promote your work or that of your colleagues in the ELC world. We look forward to reading your application.

The closing date for applications is 5pm, Monday 3 September 2018.

For more information, please contact Mariah Campbell, Programme and Policy Support Officer, Early Learning and Childcare Policy Team, Scottish Government. 0131 244 4286. Mariah.Campbell@scot.gov

Another invitation for applications will be issued in Spring 2019.
