National Coffee Quality Standards

The Executive Director presents his compliments and wishes to request Members to provide the latest information about their national coffee quality standards which will be used as the basis for reports to the Council and Committees in September 2018.
 
The aim is to collate the information received from Member countries on the various legislations and regulations concerning national quality standards.

Document PM-29/13 contains the latest information available to the Organization on national quality standards. All Members are requested to examine the information presented in this document and report if any changes have occurred. Please submit the information by 23 July 2018 or earlier, by completing the following form.

GREEN COFFEE

5. According to The Coffee Exporter’s Guide published by the International Trade Centre, coffee is usually graded on the basis of one or more of the following criteria:

• Altitude and region
• Botanical variety
• Method of processing (wet or dry process)
• Bean size, shape or colour
• Bean density
• Bean moisture

Please report national coffee quality standards on the above criteria, including grading and certification systems, together with copies of relevant documents as appropriate.
