Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and partners have commissioned economic development consultants ekosgen to undertake research into the skills needs, scale and composition of the digital technologies sector in Scotland.  The survey is for all employers of digital technology staff and not just technology businesses.
Purpose of the survey

This is a very important survey, as it will inform future decisions about policy, resources and skills investment.  The survey is aimed at technology employers as well as employers who have a significant component of digital activity within their business.  We are keen to get your views on the nature of your business, and the skills challenges that you face.

Scope of the survey

The survey will cover:
  • The current make-up of digital skills in your workforce;
  • Your current and anticipated recruitment needs;
  • Your current and anticipated future skills needs and issues;
  • Your training needs; and
  • Views on the current education system provision for the Digital Technology sector.

The information is critical to future skills planning in Scotland, and we would appreciate your efforts in completing the survey as fully as possible.  The survey itself should take around 15-20 minutes to complete.

Should you feel you are not the ideal person to be able to comment on your workforce in detail, please forward this survey link to a more appropriate colleague.

Please note, the survey focuses only on the employer's professional Digital Technology workforce (such as software development, data analysis and systems integration), and does not relate to the wider workforce's ICT or digital literacy, such as use of Microsoft Office for daily tasks.

All answers are completely confidential and will not be passed on to any third parties.  Responses will be aggregated to ensure that no one individual organisation is identifiable.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this survey.
