Local Insights

The town of Dumbarton, the River Leven and the area between the town and the Rock and Castle is rich in industrial history and heritage and at one time, these industries included shipbuilding, production and manufacturing. These industries contributed significantly to the town and its outlying areas and West Dunbartonshire Council, landowners and the community have embarked on a major waterfront regeneration project. The Dumbarton Waterfront Path project will link the town with the Rock and Castle and will provide a high quality, accessible and visually attractive path with view points, seating areas, signage and interpretation .

The Creative Cell working with ruralDimensions have been commissioned by West Dunbartonshire Council to develop an Interpretation Plan for Dumbarton Waterfront Path. This will identify what stories, information and facts should be displayed along the path about the waterfront area, what this should look like and where it should be located.  An important part of this is understanding the stories and associations that matter to local people and people with local connections.

Please take a few minutes to answer the following twelve questions.

A community consultation drop-in session will then take place on Thursday 19 April 2018 - between 2pm and 9pm - in Riverside Parish Church Hall, High Street, Dumbarton - to which you are invited.  At this important event we will share the results from this survey and our emerging plans for the interpretation plan for you to provide feedback and help shape the final proposals.

The survey deadline has been extended and will be open until midnight on Saturday 7 April 2018.

Thank you very much for your time.
