COMMUNITY QUESTIONNAIRE
YOUR VIEWS ARE IMPORTANT

Background

The rules around planning and development have changed. There is increased pressure to develop more housing across the country. However, Government policy now also puts an emphasis on local communities helping to shape their own neighbourhoods.

Dover has the opportunity to prepare a Neighbourhood Plan which will help to influence how development will be delivered in the Town over the next 15 years.

Dover District Council is responsible for deciding on overall levels of development for the District, locations for growth and what infrastructure is needed. However, a Neighbourhood Plan will guide these decisions when it comes to Dover Town and help make the area a better place to live and work.

Neighbourhood Plans are produced by the community. They are not designed to prevent development but can be a powerful tool in shaping the level, design, nature and location of future development. Once ‘made’, the Plan will be used to determine any planning applications that are submitted for new development in the Town.

HERE’S HOW:

We are at the start of preparing a Neighbourhood Plan for Dover. This questionnaire seeks feedback from all households, businesses and community groups in the Town on issues that will help shape the Plan. It is therefore vitally important you take part in this consultation.

Paper questionnaires will be distributed throughout the Town or can be completed on-line at www.dovertowncouncil.gov.uk.

PLEASE COMPLETE AND RETURN THIS QUESTIONNAIRE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO BE SURE YOUR VIEWS ARE INCLUDED IN THE PLAN

Completed questionnaires can be returned to a collection box at Dover Library, handed into the Town Council offices, or at any of the workshops.
