In 2019, the Creative Careers Programme (CCP) was launched to maximise the creative talent of the next generation and ensure that careers in the creative economy are made accessible to all.

With industry in the driving seat and seed funding from government, the programme has informed and inspired young people about careers that they may have never even heard of, and the skills and qualifications they need to succeed in those careers when they leave school.

Within the programme’s first year, over 1,000 employers have contributed £8.5m in-kind and directly engaged with 92,000 young people to achieve these goals. Many of you have registered to speak in schools via Speakers for Schools, taken part in Discover! Creative Careers Week, delivered events for young people throughout the year, and/or advised schools on their engagement with industry by becoming an Enterprise Adviser.

On top of this, we’ve worked with industry partners to develop online tools, training and support for teachers, parents, guardians and careers professionals, support for employers and more. Read more about the programme on the new DiscoverCreative.Careers website.

As we now plan for the years ahead, we’re consulting with you - employers and individuals from across the creative industries - as to where you think we need to further focus our efforts, and what more is needed to truly maximise the creative talent of the next generation and ensure careers in the creative economy are made accessible to all.

Whether you’ve engaged with the CCP or not, we’d encourage you to complete the following 5-minute survey.
