The National College for the Creative and Cultural Industries is opening with headquarters at High House Production Park in Thurrock in September 2016, with a new learning offer for 18-24 year olds including apprenticeships. It will also offer training to 16-18 year olds in partnership with local providers. The National College will be incorporated as a new Further Education corporation under the Further and Higher Education Act 1992.

It is being designed and led by employers including the Royal Opera House, National Theatre, BBC, Live Nation, White Light, Ambassadors Theatre Group, Liverpool Philharmonic, Manchester Royal Exchange and the Roundhouse. Employers will govern the college long-term, and ensure that students are provided with clear progression routes into jobs and work in the industry.

Full-time courses will include new Professional Diplomas at Level 4 as intensive, fast-track routes into jobs, providing higher level technical training. A National College Apprenticeship Service will be available to employers across the country to support them taking on apprentices in the creative and cultural industries.

The National College will also offer short residential courses to students from a range of locations at High House Production Park, with new residential accommodation due to open in 2018. In addition, where industry demands, we will open satellite campuses across the UK in partnership with employer consortia and local delivery partners.

Creative & Cultural Skills, as the accountable body for the National College, have been consulting with stakeholders since the successful Expression of Interest was announced by Government in December 2014. This survey is an open opportunity for the wider community to comment before the application for incorporation is submitted to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. The deadline is 5pm on 17 March 2016.
