This is an unprecedented time, with the widespread impact of coronavirus affecting all sections of society.

Devon and Cornwall Police has led the local response to the pandemic while continuing to carry on with its day-to-day job of preventing and detecting crime.

When considering the entirety of the Devon and Cornwall Police budget for 2021-22 I am clear that I do not want to reduce the level of service that has helped us to become the second safest force area of 43 in England and Wales.

I do not wish to impose an additional financial burden on the communities of Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly by significantly increasing the policing element of the council tax. I recognise that tough decisions will need to be made about spending. That’s why I need your views.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. Your answers will be vital in informing the decisions that lie ahead.
