Shropshire’s voluntary and community sector groups and organisations have been working incredibly hard to respond to the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19). New community volunteers are also coming together to ensure the most vulnerable people in their local areas receive support.

Many members of Shropshire’s voluntary and community sector have already spoken about the way their services have changed to respond to the pandemic, but during this busy time not everyone has had the opportunity to highlight the work they're carrying out.

Shropshire Voluntary and Community Sector Assembly Board and Shropshire Council have identified that it would benefit from a better understanding of the way Shropshire’s voluntary and community sector is responding. There are a number of reasons for this:

1)  It's important to manage pressure on the voluntary sector to ensure VCS services don't become overwhelmed and receive the support they need.

2)  Volunteers and Shropshire Council staff are coming forward to assist, and their skills could be used across a number of local partner organisations and VCS services.

3)  It's important to capture the way services are responding so that the contributions of all groups and organisations, whatever their size, can be recognised and celebrated.

4)  Funding is being made available through local schemes being run across the country. It will be important to work towards understanding how far that funding reaches to assist and where there could be gaps.

5)  The length of time the restrictions will remain in place is still unknown. The information you provide will help with forward planning.

Please take a few minutes to answer the following questions. You may not find all questions relevant to your group or organisation – feel free to skip some. We know you're busy and we don’t want to use up too much of your time, but would still like to gather enough information to develop a better understanding of the current situation.

Thank you for your time.
