Local Residents: Please complete our short survey.

Hi, this survey is now closed. If you are interested in a Colchester car club please email colchestercarclub@outlook.com Thanks!

A national car club provider is interested in coming to Colchester and we as members of the former Colchester Car Club Wombat, are running this survey to gauge interest amongst the local community in joining a car club so we can give them some feedback. It would be really helpful if you could complete this short survey whether you are interested in a car club or not.
If you are not familiar with Car Clubs, they offer vehicles located on local streets and available to the community 24/7 on a 'pay as you drive' basis. Car Clubs give their members convenient access to modern, cleaner vehicles without the hassle and expense of ownership (as the costs of insurance, tax, MOT, fuel, servicing, repairs, depreciation and parking are included.)
Car Clubs don't just benefit their members, they also benefit the whole community by relieving pressure on on street parking, as more people join and stop owning a first or second car.
Members who drive less than 6 - 8000 miles per year could save up to £3500 a year using a Car Club as an alternative to a first or second car.
Typical Car Club costs include an annual membership of around £60, a hire charge from £4.95 an hour and mileage charge from 21p a mile.
If you drive less than 6-8000 miles per year in any of your household vehicles you can find out how much your car is really costing you by using this cost calculator or visit the Carplus website to find out more about how Car Clubs work and whether it would suit you.

This survey is open until the 31st March 2017.

* 1. What area of Colchester do you live in? (The list below is our starting point - but not exhaustive -  for where we think a car club car could be popular)

* 2. How many cars are based at your household?

* 3. How likely are you to consider joining a car club now or in the future if one starts up again in Colchester?

* 4. Car clubs need dedicated highly visible parking spaces to be successful. Whether you would join a car club or not would you be supportive of an on road car park space being reserved for car club use in your area ( with the anticipated impact that spaces get freed up as residents give up first or second cars)

If you answered Unlikely or Definitely Not to question 3, thank you for completing the survey, please go to the end and press the 'done' button.

If you would Definitely, Likely or Possibly join a car club please continue to complete the rest of the survey.

* 5. If you did join now or in the future, what would you use the car club for?

* 6. What types of vehicle would suit your needs? (Please select all that apply.)

* 7. How far would you be willing to walk to your nearest car club car?

* 8. If your nearest car club car was booked how far would you be willing to walk to the next nearest?

* 9. Have you any suggestions or comments you would like to make about the possibility of a local car club in Colchester

* 10. It would be helpful to have some personal data if you are comfortable providing it (none of it will be shared with a third party)

Thanks for completing the survey, your time is appreciated. This survey has been put together by former Wombat Car Club members who are keen to get a car club up and running again in Colchester.  If you have left your email address, you will only be contacted in relation to progress with setting up a new car club by Emily Harrup who used to manage Wombat Car Club. Please look out for emails from Colchestercarclub@outlook.com
