We are committed to providing the best possible services for residents so its really important that you have your say on where we are spending your money.

The council continues to be hit very hard by cuts to local government funding at a time when demand for our services is increasing. The budget proposals set out how we will deal with these changes while maintaining and protecting vital services.

Its important that we get your views on our plans and priorities so that we make the best decisions.

The full proposals are outlined in a summary document here with the main headlines being:

* We have a balanced budget for 2018/19

* There are no plans to cut any services and we continue to look closely at what we do to make sure that we’re as efficient as possible.

* We are proposing to increase council tax by 10 pence per week so that we can continue to deliver our services and invest in things that you’ve told us are important

* Major projects to make the borough a better place to live, work and invest will continue including the Youth Zone and Primrose Gardens Retirement Village.

* We will also continue to invest in crime reduction and preventing social disorder; enhancing our homelessness service; support with accessing digital services; and help for people to access employment.

If you want to look at the proposals in more detail, you can view the agenda papers, which were discussed at the Council's Executive Cabinet on 18 January 2018 here, or you can see a summary of the information here. Your feedback is important to us and will inform the final decision to be made by Council on the 27th February 2018.
