Just because you are leaving care, or have already left care, we haven’t stopped caring about you. We want to make sure all young people in care and care leavers in Barnet feel safe and supported and know where to go to for advice and help. We know that it is a big step to move out of care and start living independently or with friends, so we have set out in our draft Barnet Care Leavers Local Offer what support and services Barnet Council provides to young people making this journey. This includes information on the support that we absolutely must offer you by law, as well as any extra support that we think others can give you to make the journey as easy as possible.

We are asking you and all those involved in providing these services, what they think of our first draft of the Barnet Care Leavers Local Offer. We need everyone’s views. We want to make sure this document is clear and easy to understand and helps young people who have already left and those who are about to leave care, to get the most up-to-date and relevant information about the support they, as a Barnet care leaver, are entitled to receive.  We really want to know what you think of the offer, for example, what have we missed out, or what could we explain more clearly?

Please help us to get this right by taking time to read the draft Barnet Care Leavers Local Offer and share your views on what we are proposing by completing a short questionnaire. This will help us to provide you with the right information and support, at the right time.

Thank you for your time – your participation in this important consultation is greatly appreciated.
