Take part in the 2018 Summer Poll to have your say on culture, Welsh language and communications

During the summer of 2016 we, the Culture, Welsh Language and Communications Committee, asked the Welsh public for their ideas as to what they felt our priorities should be and to choose the inquiry we should investigate next. This was the first time an Assembly committee had asked the people of Wales to decide a committee inquiry.

2,660 people responded to the poll. Out of the eleven potential inquiries ‘funding for and access to music education’ came out on top with 20% of the vote. You can read our report and watch a short film about our story, and the journey we have taken together:

The views and opinions of the Welsh public are at the heart of our work so, building on the success of the first public poll, we have combined ideas put forward by the public along with inquiries we hope to look at soon, and are asking the people of Wales to engage with us and tell us which one is their priority.

The winning inquiry will be one of three inquires we hope to look at next, as we’ll also be holding inquiries into supporting and promoting the Welsh language and the role of arts and culture in addressing poverty and social exclusion.

The poll closes on Monday 8 October. You can find out more about the poll and our work by going to our webpage or by following us on twitter @SeneddCWLC

Thank you
