ACTSA's Youth Activist Network - Survey Questions
Introduction
Action for Southern Africa (ACTSA) was established in 1994 as the successor organisation to the Anti-Apartheid Movement (AAM). We work to promote human rights, equality, and sustainable development in Southern Africa, in solidarity with people and civil society in the region. We are a movement powered by people who have who have helped us win major victories for people across the region; most-recently, a precedent-setting legal settlement for ex-gold miners in South Africa living with silicosis and tuberculosis.
We are charting a new course for our work and in 2020 we will launch a Youth Activist Network (YAN) of young Southern Africans and friends of Southern Africa (18 to 35-year olds). The Network will, a) provide a valuable youth perspective on ACTSA’s work, b) provide a platform for young people to run campaigns relevant to our work, c) facilitate solidarity and joint-working between the YAN and youth groups in Southern Africa, and d) to drive ACTSA’s agenda for wider youth engagement in our advocacy and campaigning.
We would be hugely grateful if you could take a few minutes to answer the questions below. Your answers will shape the design of YAN.
