The mission of the Calthorpe inner city community garden and centre exists to improve the physical and emotional well-being of those who live, work or study in Camden and surrounding areas.

Kings Cross is a developing area, with a major development in planning stage right next door to The Calthorpe. As you might have known, University College London (UCL) hopes to build a centre for dementia and neurology research, the largest of its kind in Europe. We are in discussions with the UCL Redevelopment team to ensure that the Calthorpe benefits from the opportunities that this offers alongside minimising any disruption to local residents during the projected long building process as well as the changing landscape of the neighbourhood in the future.

We would like to invite you to participate in this short survey which will come alongside a number of one-to-one and group-based interviews over the coming months.

This particular survey seeks your views on a range of indicators to help The Calthorpe continue to work with local residents and community groups to find out about unmet community needs for the future. We hope you will be able to help and support us.

The survey will take no more than 10 minutes to complete, and if you wish to participate in any follow up discussion, there is a choice to register interest at the end of the survey.

Please be reassured that we will not share any personal details with anyone not working for or commissioned by The Calthorpe. As such, we have not asked for any personal information that would identify who you are, with the exception of the optional question on participating in any follow up, for which we will require as a minimum your name and an email address.

We look forward to receiving your responses to this survey.

Yours sincerely,

Louise Gates, Director, Marina Chang, Co-Chair, and Lynne Gray, Co-Chair
