The Community and Covid-19: The experiences of culturally and ethnically diverse individuals in the Lewes District |
Sompriti is a project run by the Sussex Community Development Association (SCDA) that works with individuals from a range of different backgrounds and heritage. We want to learn about how the pandemic has impacted culturally and ethnically diverse communities in the Lewes District. Our increased understanding of the barriers discovered during the pandemic will ensure those who have been disproportionately affected by Covid-19, especially individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities are supported further. The information gained from this survey will help shape inclusion, and equality in our local services in the future, especially as we move to a recovery phase from Covid-19.
The Lewes District covers an area of 113 square miles, with 9 miles (14.5 km) of coastline and represents a total of 28 parishes/villages. The larger towns in the Lewes District include Lewes, Newhaven, Peacehaven, Seaford and Telscombe. We are speaking to many local residents, organisations, businesses and leaders in the Lewes District about their experiences during the pandemic, and would love to hear from you.

We want to know: what your experiences have been during the pandemic? Are you getting the information and help you need during the pandemic? Have you had any problems getting/accessing information? What’s working well, or needs to improve? What are some changes you would like to see going forward?
