CO2nstruct Zero is the sector’s call to arms as an industry-change programme, and proposes a set of metrics against which its impact will be measured and reported at a sector level. This will be used to share our progress with Government and understand where we need to take further action in order to reach Net Zero.

We know there are many existing initiatives in this space, within the sector, each with different reporting metrics and are grateful for all your support to date. CO2nstruct Zero’s role, through the Construction Leadership Council, is to shine a light on and amplify the many initiatives in play in a co-ordinated way to corral the industry together; and provide a co-ordinated industry-wide agreed approach that Government can work with and challenge industry against.  

This consultation sets out a series of proposed metrics  for CO2nstruct Zero (a copy can be found at https://www.constructionleadershipcouncil.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Performance-Framework-A4-21.5.21.pdf) based on many measures business and projects are already using, and invites your response by 1700 on Friday 11 June.

This is your opportunity to influence, to state your views on how as a sector we should be measuring process and impact against the 9 priorities; and shape our future Net Zero approach to designing and building projects and buildings of all sizes.
