Nomination Form

The ‘Cycling Champion of the Year’ Awards are promoted and presented jointly by Cycling Scotland, Cycling UK, Scottish Cycling and Sustrans Scotland.

We are seeking nominations to recognise the individuals and organisations that have left a lasting impression on cycling in Scotland during the last year.

The award winners will be announced during Cycling Scotland’s annual Conference on 4 November 2021.

There are four award categories:

The Visionary Champion of the Year will be presented to an individual whose vision and contribution has made a significant impact on cycling strategy and development at a local, regional or national level.
Your nominated individual can work within an organisation, workplace, campus, school, community, group or club.

The Delivery Champion of the Year will be presented to an individual who has made a significant social impact through the delivery of cycling projects and activities.
Your nominated individual can work within an organisation, workplace, campus, school, community, group or club.

The Cycling Business Champion of the Year will be presented to an individual or colleagues who have sustained or developed their business through adoption and promotion of cycling activities.   The business (for example, a supermarket, café, tourist venue) will have led the way with policy and action to support low-carbon neighbourhoods and enable staff, customers and visitors to cycle in the community, setting a precedent that influences others.

The Cycle Shop Champion of the Year will be presented to a Scottish cycle retailer that is at the heart of a cycling community, selling ‘cycling’ as much as selling bikes and products.  The Cycle Shop Cycling Champion will demonstrate the value of the cycle retail industry to Scottish communities and our collective aim of making cycling accessible to all.

Please tell us why your nomination should be awarded Champion of the Year, demonstrating how they meet the criteria above and any key achievements during the past year.

The closing date for nominations is August 1st.  Winners will be announced at Cycling Scotland’s annual conference on November 4th.

Please note, the selection panel will use the quality of the nomination, rather than the quantity, to inform its decision.

Please note that employees of the awarding organisations (Cycling Scotland, Cycling UK, Scottish Cycling and Sustrans Scotland) are not eligible for nomination
