Newlyn Housing Working Party came together in 2018 to help local people in housing need in the Newlyn area. The Working Party includes representatives from Penzance Town Council, Penzance Neighbourhood Development Plan, Cornwall Community Land Trust, Gwavas Residents Association and others.

We would like to gauge local need and gather views.  This will help us in the planning and shaping of a project to meet that need.

A report of survey results will be produced. Copies will be provided to the Housing Working Party, Penzance Town Council and to Cornwall Council’s Affordable Housing Team.  The Housing Working Party will continue to consult on how it proposes to address that housing need.

We have encouraged local people to complete the Housing Survey online.  So please only complete one version. Do not complete both versions. Completed paper surveys should be sent to the freepost address given.

We encourage each person/household in housing need to complete a survey - preferably online. Additional paper surveys available from:

This is also in part a continuation of the work initiated by the Penzance Citizens’ Panel which particularly focussed on the severe housing need faced by the locals. The Penzance Citizens’ Panel was supported by Penzance Town Council and other local community organisations

We welcome opinions as well as expressions of need. So we’d be pleased to hear from all local residents, and indeed former residents with a longstanding link to Newlyn.

If you would be interested in supporting the work of or joining the Newlyn Housing Working Party we would be pleased to hear from you.

Please note that the final completion date is 15th January 2021.

Thank you in anticipation of your assistance.

Yours sincerely
