The Coastal Community Adapting Together (CCAT) project aims to support coastal communities to understand climate change and how they can adapt. The Irish Sea and its coastal communities are directly impacted by climate change. This 2-year pilot project from 2019 to 2021 will focus on communities in North Dublin in Ireland and Pembrokeshire in Wales. The project is led by University College Dublin in partnership with Fingal County Council and University College Cork in Ireland and Cardiff University, Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum and the Port of Milford Haven in Wales.  This project is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Ireland Wales Programme.

This short survey will help us to understand local community knowledge and attitudes towards climate change and its impact on your local coastal area, including the possible need for adaptation in response to a changing climate and its impact on the coast.  The data will help us to develop engagement and communication materials, as well as supporting planning for events to be held over the next 18 months.

The questionnaire should take no more than 10 minutes of your time, and is being conducted in accordance with Cardiff University’s Ethics Procedures and in full accordance with GDPR guidelines. Your participation in this questionnaire is entirely voluntary, and you can stop your participation at any time. All data you provide, including any personal data, will be treated with confidentiality, and will only be used for the purpose of this research study.  The data will never be sold on and will not be individually attributable to you.
