BACKGROUND
The council are considering developing a new and exciting Park & Choose hub at the Castleview site. This will provide new low-carbon transport services and facilities for residents, commuters, visitors and tourists and we are keen to get your opinion to shape the development around needs and requirements of potential users.
What does this actually mean? This could include the following facilities:

- There will be active travel facilities to encourage cycling and walking, including bike hire, cycle and walking paths, bike repair services and shower and storage facilities;
- An improved park & ride scheme with new, convenient and regular electric bus services, electric car hire and other ultra-low emission transport options including taxis;
- Electric car charging points and LPG fuelling points;
- A new goods collection point to enable you pick up your ordered goods at the hub rather than travelling into the city; and
This hub might also include a cafe; meeting points for walks, rides and guided tours; provide tourist information; and real time travel information.
This new hub will reduce congestion in the city centre; improve air quality; reduce emissions; and improve public health.
