Exploring the relationship between the use of Facebook and self-esteem

You are being invited to take part in a research study. Before you decide to take part, it is important that you understand the nature of the research, why it is being carried out, your role, and if you choose to participate. What is the purpose of the study?
The purpose of the study is to explore the relationship between Facebook and Self-Esteem.
Why have I been chosen?
You have been chosen to take part in this study because you have a Facebook account. Your involvement in this study will help myself and others to explore the relationship between Facebook and Self-Esteem.
Do I have to take part?
You do not need to take part in this study. You may withdraw at any time without giving a reason – up until the point that you submit your final responses.

Will my taking part in the study be kept confidential?
Any data collected will be kept anonymous and strictly confidential.

What will happen to the results of the research study?
The results of the research study will be used in my submission for my dissertation.

Who has reviewed the study?
The research study has been reviewed by Plymouth University Ethics Committee.
