The Sussex Innovation Forum will be a space for stakeholders in the Sussex region to share ideas, find practical solutions and innovate to meet decarbonisation targets, improve wellbeing and aid economic growth. It is aimed at public and private sector stakeholders with a role to play in delivering the Greater Brighton Energy and Water Plans, including local authorities, energy providers and utility companies, businesses, community groups, charities and civil society organisations. It will be inclusive, informal and interactive.

Organisation of the Forum is being led by the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) at the University of Sussex.

We want to hear your views on how the Forum can be most useful. Please take five minutes to complete this survey by Sunday 25th October 2020.

Background and format

Forums will take place every two months starting in November 2020, initially held online for 1.5 hours.

Each Forum will focus on a topic selected by local stakeholders. Interactive panels of guest speakers will share their experiences and expertise on the topic. The format and length of the forums may be adjusted in the future to better fit local needs.

The Sussex Innovation Forum is funded for its first year through an ESRC Impact Acceleration Grant awarded to Dr Ralitsa Hiteva from SPRU. It is being organised with support from the Greater Brighton Energy Working Group, the University of Brighton’s Green Growth Platform and local stakeholders. The Forum will support the delivery of the Greater Brighton Energy and Water Plans.
