In October and November 2019 we asked residents, local communities and organisations in Buckinghamshire to give their views on proposed council priorities and budget allocation for the new Buckinghamshire Council. 1867 residents and 79 organisations responded.

Following this, on 7 January 2020, the Shadow Executive considered the draft budget and financial plan for the next three years. They also agreed the Corporate Plan that sets out the priorities for Buckinghamshire Council from 1 April 2020. 

The draft budget will now go through a period of review and challenge by members of all the five councils through the Overview and Scrutiny Committee. The Committee will then make recommendations on any potential changes to the budget.

These Overview and Scrutiny sessions are public and will be webcast online ( The committee wants to hear from residents who have questions about how the new council is planning to spend its £1 billion budget.
