As you may be aware, Hyndburn Borough Council have recently purchased the 87 acre Brookside (Bury Meadows) site in Stanhill Village, Oswaldtwistle, Accrington.

The Council and Stanhill Village Community Association believe that the site has huge potential for wider public benefit, and they are currently working alongside other local community groups on a plan that could transform the space into somewhere local people can enjoy nature and outdoor activities. The ambitious project would also aim to tackle and achieve radical climate action changes by improving biodiversity, habitat recovery and carbon capture throughout the site.

The project would take several years to develop, and would be dependant upon successful fundraising. However, this could be an amazing opportunity to make real, and lasting, changes to the environment and the communities surrounding Brookside. The working group has already identified some key improvements that could help us do this (some mentioned on this poster below) but, before any further plans are considered, we would like to get your feedback and see if there is anything else that you think should be included.

Thank you for taking the time to answer these very quick questions and share your ideas.

After you have completed the survey, you can keep up to date with the project here: Brookside Project Updates
