The school wishes to change the admissible age range from 6-13 years to 6-11 years. The rationale for this change is to strengthen transition from primary to secondary school for our vulnerable pupils. Brantridge School provides special education for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs and associated learning needs. Our pupils would benefit from transferring to secondary school at the same time as their peers, in order to build stable relationships which will support their academic and social achievement.
As such The Admissions Code of Practice requires us to consult with stakeholders.
