Bevis Marks is the oldest synagogue still in use in the United Kingdom - holding regular services and welcoming visitors on guided tours.

Built in 1701, the Grade 1 listed building is a rare intact Wren-style interior in the City of London.

With 300 years of continuous worship, the community has amassed treasures of ritual silver, vestments, prints, and paintings. Its archive dates from the 1660s and its intangible heritage is unique to Britain’s oldest Jewish community - the S&P Sephardi Community.

We are working towards a Heritage Lottery Fund application to safeguard the future of Bevis Marks and make it a better place to visit.

The project is at a very early stage and your input will help shape its development.
