Barnes Park Sports Pavilion User Group Questionnaire |
Introduction
The Grassmoor, Hasland and Winsick Parish Council, and Big Local has carried extensive consultations with the local community over recent years. This has led to the need to replace the existing dilapidated sports pavilion at Barns Park and replace it with a brand-new state of the art facility.
The new Pavilion has been designed to accommodate the existing Cricket and Football clubs to meet modern league standards for changing rooms. In addition, it will have clubhouse / social space, kitchen and spectator veranda, and a multi-use youth and function room with storage and paved outdoor space.
The Pavilion will be an exciting new addition for the area which will help the sports clubs to grow and to provide dedicated space for the new youth group. The aim of the facility is also to provide space for other groups and organisations to use where there are current gaps in provision or where space is unavailable when needed. However, the new Pavilion is NOT about duplicating what is already available, but to add value and opportunity for the community to grow and prosper.
Whilst we have in place a significant amount of funds to support the cost of the new facility, we still have a gap which needs addressing. As a result, we need to apply for grant funding from various sources and to provide a strong business case that the new pavilion will be well-used and sustainable.
The funding programmes we have identified support different types of community need, not just sport, but activities that support healthier lifestyles e.g. participating in social and community events, volunteering and spectating etc.
To support the funding applications, we need to more fully understand the benefits the project will bring to our community, and by completing the following questionnaire, you will be helping us to achieve this.
