Muelhlan: Collective Grievance regarding the refusal to Pay CISRS Renewals

By signing this you are participating in the following collective grievance regarding the refusal of Muelhlan to pay ALL costs associated with CISRS renewal

We, the undersigned, assert that it is completely unacceptable to us that Muelhlan are refusing to pay for our trade’s standard accreditation, the CISRS Card and instead passing the full costs of CISRS renewal onto us, the scaffolder workforce.

It is now a requirement, as part of CISRS renewal, that we complete a 2 Day CPD course, This requirement has been brought in on the back of HSE recommendations and is now a mandatory aspect of CISRS Card renewal. Muelhlan require scaffolders to have an up to date CISRS card in order to work, this is non-negotiable.

To our knowledge, no other trade is being placed in this position; therefore we assert that we are being treated differently from colleagues who work in other trades who are not being placed at the same or similar financial disadvantage.

The resolution we are seeking is simply parity of treatment with all other offshore colleagues and to have all costs associated with the mandatory CISRS renewal met by Muelhlan.

In addition to the above we would also take the opportunity to note that we fully support and endorse the Unite Offshore position on CISRS Renewal. This is as follows:

Unite Position on CISRS Card Renewal

There should be just one accreditation for scaffolders working both on and offshore. This should be the CISRS Card,

Therefore there should be no formal dispensation for offshore companies and the offshore oil and gas industry,

That it is the employers’ responsibility to pay the costs of this essential industry health & safety training in full.
