The Scottish Waste Industry Training Competency and Health & Safety (SWITCH) Forum was originally created to support Scotland’s Zero Waste Plan by encouraging the continual improvement of health & safety and workplace skills in the resource management sector.

The Forum has two main areas of focus:

- Health & Safety: Supporting continual improvement in health and safety

- Education, training & Competency: Creating training, learning and development opportunities

It is recognised that there is a lack of basic health and safety training within the waste and resources sector. The SHEA / SWITCH waste passport scheme, launched in July 2018, is a collaboration between Energy and Utility Skills and SWITCH to further support and promote health and safety in the sector. The scheme has been designed to provide on-site evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge on health, safety and environmental awareness issues – similar to the CSCS card for the construction industry.

In order to promote and raise awareness of the newly launched SHEA waste passport scheme we would like to invite you take a few minutes of your time to complete the online survey.
