Introduction

We need your voice to shape the future of research into childhood neurological conditions!

To prioritise future research into childhood neurological conditions, the British Paediatric Neurology Association (BPNA) and the James Lind Alliance (JLA) are working together in a Priority Setting Partnership (PSP) and need your help.

We aim to shape future research by bringing together ideas from patients, their families, friends and professionals.

We are asking you to suggest your questions about treatments, therapies or procedures aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of children and young adults (aged 0-25 years) with neurological conditions.

  1. Your ideas will be turned into research questions. A list will be produced.
  2. A second survey will ask people to prioritise the list of questions.
  3. Finally, a workshop will be held; to produce a shortlist of priority questions (usually 10 questions.)

What is a neurological condition?

A neurological condition is a health disorder affecting the nervous system: the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles.  This includes a wide range of conditions that affect children and young adults in different ways at different ages.

You can see a list of examples via the link here

Autism, multiple sclerosis and mitochondrial diseases will not be included as Priority Setting Partnerships have already gathered questions for research into these conditions.
