Introduction and Welcome

Bristol Open Doors 2018 are looking for volunteers to help with the event this September.

Each year hundreds of volunteers help us to open the doors of the city’s iconic and hidden architectural spaces. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get behind the scenes at festival venues, meet interesting people and develop new skills.

About Bristol Open Doors
Produced by the Architecture Centre, Bristol Open Doors is the biggest festival of architecture in the South West. It celebrates what is special about the buildings, places and spaces that are on our doorstep. Getting us behind, above and below the ordinary and the everyday, the festival’s singular purpose is to open doors, celebrate design and engage everyone in their city’s architecture.

What to expect for the 2018 programme?
With 101 events taking place over the 3 day programme, expect every kind of opportunity you can think of to see Bristol's buildings from above, below and within. The festival includes specially programmed walks and talks to experience extraordinary spaces in new ways and focusing on families this year will be bursting at the seams with family focused activity.

We're looking for more volunteers to support the Architecture Centre in a variety of ways, which are outlined in the survey ahead. Please use the tick boxes in the following pages to show your interest.

Benefits to being a volunteer:
·        Get to really see behind the scenes at some of Bristol’s most interesting spaces and find yourself working with the buildings key owner/manager or designer.
·        Meet and work with highly informed and interesting guides
·        Meet other volunteers and become part of the festival team
·        Explore the city in more depth
·        Learn new skills as part of the festival, from audience engagement, public welcome management, family workshop facilitation, event management, marketing and communications

As a thank you for volunteering, you will also receive: A complimentary printed programme (usually £3) and an invite to the festival wrap up party.
