Wavertree High Street - possible car free day?
Wavertree High Street – Community View
The Wavertree Society is working with Liverpool Council to consider the possibility of closing Wavertree High Street to cars for World Car Free day on Sunday, September 22nd. We are looking at a Sunday event, from 11am-3pm to minimise disruption. This would be part of our planned community celebration to highlight that the Rose Garden is 40 years young this year!
We are supportive of the idea of a Car Free Day in Wavertree as it could link well with our own celebrations for the Rose Garden, however, we feel that engagement with the community is important on this issue and to ensure its success, if it does happen.
We are asking the local community to share your initial thoughts on the idea of a Car Free Day that we can consider with Liverpool City Council.
The survey will be open until 16th August and the results shared at our community event on 19th August https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/love-wavertree-campaign-community-conversation-tickets-68242646593
