The Proposal

This is an exciting time for fencing as the two National Governing Bodies - British Disability Fencing (BDF) and British Fencing (BF) - explore new ways of creating more inclusive environments for fencers. The proposal is to merge the key roles and responsibilities of BDF into BF.

The process of exploring what this could look like has now commenced and we are interested in hearing the views of members of both BDF and BF as well as the wider fencing community.

This short survey is open to everyone and the responses will help shape the project action plan. This plan will guide next steps as we explore the merits in integrating the responsibilities of BDF into BF.  Most of the questions simply require a short response but there is also space to share your views more generally. The survey closes on Sunday 12th December.

Your response will be shared with both BF and BDF, with a summary published on the websites of both organisations.  The collation and analysis of your returns will be independently undertaken, activity funded by Sport England who is supportive of the proposal.

Please noteUK Sport currently fund the EIS to deliver the Wheelchair World Class Programme (WCP). Delivery of the WCP falls outside the scope of the responsibilities of BDF and as such is outside the scope of this merger of responsibilities.
