Castle Builders (volunteers) for Lost Castles St Helens
How can I get involved and register my interest?
Thank you for expressing an interest in helping to build Stuttgart’s iconic 10th Century Old Castle (Altes Schloss Stuttgart, Germany) with renowned French artist Olivier Grossetete.
From 5-8 August 2018, we will be holding workshops in St Helens Town Hall, WA10 1HP (in the Main Hall). People will be part of an incredible team to make elements of Old Castle Stuggatt, where cardboard sections will be transported outside to the construction site.
On Friday 10 August in Victoria Square, outside the Town Hall, you will have the opportunity to erect the castle with the team. The construction is made purely of cardboard boxes and tape and you do not need to have any specific skills to be part of this project – just enthusiasm and passion.
The project is all about participation and is not possible without the support from the local community and people from St Helens. You will be working with a wide variety of people under the direction of Olivier’s artistic team and will collectively create this impressive structure which will stand in Victoria Square until Sunday 12 August.
All of the team, along with the passing public, are then invited to trample on and demolish the incredible structure on Sunday 12 August, with the cardboard then being taken away for appropriate recycling.
