Consultation Survey

2021 marks the 50th anniversary of Crafts Council. The values championed are pioneering, open and playful, with social justice and environmental responsibility central. All these are evident in craft and important for associated curatorial practice today.

You are invited to contribute to Crafts Council consultation towards the development of the future programme of support and opportunities for curators and curatorial field, engaged with craft; to initiate a curatorial community to champion ideas of social justice and environmental responsibility, innovation and invention, and the social role of craft and making for wider society.

For this, we are exploring the needs and requirements of curators working with and across craft themes, issues, collections, objects, and the expanded fields of craft, related curatorial practice and research.

The proposition is a national collaborative, co-operative community network for curators.
This survey invites your views; on the need for such a community and what would help and support you and wider curatorial field of practice.

We are interested to hear the experiences of curators working with collections, exhibitions, curatorial research and critical practice; curators who are linked to an institution, i.e. museum, gallery, commercial/corporate environment, HEI, and curators working independently and freelance across a range of locations and contexts.

The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. If you have any questions, would like to discuss this directly, please contact me via email a_campbell@craftscouncil.org.uk

Thank you for your time,

Annabelle Campbell | Curator: Creative Partnerships + Programmes
