The BACP Register audit was introduced in 2014 in order to monitor compliance with the terms and conditions of the Register and to gather statistical data and trends. At present, we randomly select 2.6% of Registrants per month and require the following information:

  • a continuing professional development log, centred around reflection, planning, action and evaluation;
  • the dates, hours and setting in which they have had supervision;
  • three examples of how supervision has had an impact on their practice;
  • supervisor’/s’ contact details;
  • evidence of professional indemnity insurance.

We are now looking at the current audit requirements as part of our commitment to maintaining and raising standards, as well as ensuring public protection. We have made some preliminary suggestions for additions and amendments to the audit process to aid discussion but would very much like your feedback on any aspect of the audit process.

Following analysis of the responses, we will then form a final version for approval by the Register Advisory Board and the Board of Governors.
